Privacy & Cookie Notice
A clear guide to how Fatooi protects family information and handles optional analytics.
Effective August 19, 2026
Privacy comes first. Fatooi is designed as a private, invitation-only place for family history, relationships, stories, photographs, and memories.
Public visitors may browse public informational pages. Invited members may later provide account information, family relationships, photographs, stories, dates, and sharing preferences. Do not submit passwords, financial account information, government identification numbers, medical records, legal files, or other highly sensitive information.
How information is used
- Operate and secure the website.
- Confirm invitations and manage family accounts.
- Display family information only to authorized audiences.
- Maintain family trees, relationships, stories, photographs, and memories.
- Respond to access, correction, or deletion requests.
- Measure public-page performance when analytics consent is given.
Sharing & visibility
Family information is private by default. Visibility may be limited to an approved family tree, an immediate-family circle, selected people, or only the profile owner and authorized administrators.
Fatooi does not sell family information.
Cookies & analytics
Essential cookies support sign-in, security, preferences, and basic website operation. Optional Google Analytics cookies may be used only on public pages to understand visits, page usage, approximate location, device type, and general performance. Analytics will not intentionally load in the signed-in family area.
Optional analytics remains disabled unless a visitor chooses “Accept analytics.” Choosing “Reject” keeps analytics disabled. Visitors may change their choice later through cookie settings. Analytics is used for performance measurement, not advertising or profiling family members.
Retention & security
Information is kept only as reasonably needed for the family archive, account administration, security, legal obligations, or an approved family purpose. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no website can guarantee absolute security.
Children
Do not create an account for a child or publish information about a minor without appropriate parent or guardian involvement.
Your choices
You may ask the family administrator to review, correct, restrict, export, or delete information connected with you, subject to legitimate archival, security, or legal needs. You may reject optional analytics without losing access to public information.
Changes & contact
This notice may be updated as Fatooi’s features and obligations change. For privacy questions, contact the family administrator who invited you or the website’s designated support contact when available.
Family photographs and album privacy
Photographs uploaded to a private family album are available only to approved members of that family tree while the photograph is shown. Fatooi creates optimized encrypted copies and thumbnails for private viewing. Image files may be resized, compressed, converted to WebP, and stripped of embedded metadata. Members should keep their original full-resolution files in their own secure storage.
The person who uploaded a photograph may correct its description and the list of family members shown in it, and may hide or restore the photograph. A hidden photograph is removed from the shared album view but remains stored so its uploader and authorized Tree Admins can review or restore it.
Authorized Tree Admins for that family tree may review photographs submitted by members, correct descriptions or member tags, hide or restore a photograph, or permanently delete it when necessary for privacy, safety, accuracy, family administration, or a reported violation. Permanent deletion removes the album record and its encrypted image copies from active storage. Temporary operational backups may retain a copy until the applicable backup-retention cycle expires.
Upload only photographs you are permitted to share with the family. If you are pictured in a photograph or believe a photograph affects your privacy, contact the uploader or a Tree Admin to request correction, restriction, or deletion.
